ABSTRACT This article presents de developing and the results of the use of “do-files” on the routing process of printed circuit boards (PCB). During the project stage, the printed circuit boards of systems that operate with frequencies above tenths of megahertz must respect some rules of electromagnetic compatibility, in order to prevent further functional problems. The most used method, based on automatic routing software, nor always gives good results, because this routing software doesn’t have an optimized algorithm to follow the electromagnetic compatibility rules. The “do-file” is a feature of some software, as the Specctra Shape Router. It is a text file that contains a command sequence defined by the developer, interpreted by the software when making the printed circuit board automatic routing. When the “do-files” are rightly defined, it make possible to reduce the project time and the use of human and material resources.
